Personal Letter

Dear Postman or Postwoman,

I know it seems odd to find a letter addressed to you, but if you are reading this, I’m glad you took the time. I was curious if you ever really thought about the contents of the parcels and paper you deliver in the sense of all the possibilities of what they contain and how important you delivering them may be. I wanted to thank you for all of these, for your diligence and your dedication, for your public service and professionalism.

For the millions of Pen Pal letters that connect strangers together in friendship, for birthday cards that tie families together in celebration even through distance, for the holiday cards that bring uncountable smiles, for the packages that bring excitement or fulfill needs, for the common letters that show someone cares enough to write, even for the bills that remind us to work on, to care for those things we care for.

                                    Thank you.

Though I know the weather is not always that great, I want to thank you for the great job you do.

                                                                                                Sincerely,

                                                                                                    A Privileged Recipient

P.S. May the dogs never bite and the sun always shine in your journeys.

P.S.S. Sorry about the awful handwriting.
